In this article, I am going to explain how to draw a Use Case Diagram of University Management System in Star UML.

Step1: Download Star UML

If you don’t have Star UML, you can download it from this link.

Step 2: Add Diagram in Star UML

Go to Models -> Add Diagram and select the Use Case Diagram. All the Tools related to Use Cases are shown on the left.

Step 3: Draw Use Case Diagram of University Management System

‣ Add Use Case Subject

To Draw a Use Case Diagram of University Management System, First Add the Use Case Subject from the left by dragging it and name it university management system.

‣ Add Actors

In the University Management system there are 4 actors:

1. Department Staff
2. Teacher
3. Vice Dean
4. Dean

Just select the actors from the left and place them on the sides you want. The Department Staff is the main actor that will be at the left and the other three will be at the right as you can see below:

‣ Add Use Cases and their relation with the actors

Select Use Case from the left and add it inside the Use Case Subject.

Use Case 1: Enter University Information

The Use Case Enter University Information is connected with the Department Staff having Association Relation as it is their responsibility to enter the university information.

Use Case 2: Enter Student Attendance and Marks

The Use Case Enter Student Attendance and Marks are connected with the Teacher as the lecture, everything will be delivered by His/Her so it is the responsibility of them.

Use Case 3: Enter Students Information

The Use Case Enter Students Information is also connected with the Department Staff having the relation of association. The information would be in which course the students are enrolled, which batch they are in and much more.

Use Case 4: Create Documents for education process

The Use Case Create Documents for the education process is also the responsibility of Department staff, so it is connected with it having the relation of Association.

Use Case 5: Sign permission documents

The Use Case Sign permission documents are connected with the Vice Dean and Dean having the relation of Association.

Use Case 6: View Student Information

The Use Case View student information is connected with the Vice Dean, Dean, and Department staff having the Association relation.
